About Brian F. DolanBorn in Wilmington, Delaware in September 1958, Brian F. Dolan is a graduate of Alexis I. duPont High School. He attended the University of Delaware from 1976-1980 and graduated with a degree in history. Following graduation he attended Naval Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island and was commissioned an Ensign in November 1981. After tours of duty on USS Ainsworth (FF-1090) and USS Iowa (BB-61) which included deployments to Beirut, Lebanon, where he served in the multinational peace keeping force, and the Indian Ocean, Mr. Dolan was honorably discharged from active duty in July 1986. From 1987-1989 he returned to the University of Delaware for graduate studies where he served as an instructor and teaching assistant. He graduated with a Masters Degree in International Relations in 1989. Following graduation he enrolled at the Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. During law school studies he received honors as a member of the appellate moot court board. After graduation from law school Mr. Dolan participated in both the Delaware and Pennsylvania bar examinations and subsequently gained admission to the bars of both jurisdictions. In 1997 he was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. Throughout Mr. Dolan’s legal career he has practiced in Georgetown, Delaware. During his first four years of practice he was employed as an associate with the law firm of Griffin & Hackett P.A. where he served as a general practitioner. Also during that time he was a part time instructor for undergraduate classes in U.S. Foreign Policy and international relations at the University of Delaware. In 1997 he moved to the law firm of Stumpf, Vickers & Sandy P.A. where he now concentrates his practice on personal injury law. Professional legal memberships include the Delaware Trial Lawyers Associations, American Association of Justice, Delaware and American Bar Associations and the Terry-Carey Inn of Court. During 2000 he served as a member of the Delaware State Bar Executive Committee and in 2001 Mr. Dolan was made a director of Stumpf, Vickers & Sandy. He has served on the Board of Governors of The Delaware Trial Lawyers Association. During the Spring of 2000 he graduated from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. In December 2001 Mr. Dolan retired from the Naval Reserves. Mr. Dolan has been an active member of various civic associations including the Milton Lions Club, Milton Theatre and Lewes-Rehoboth Meal on Wheels. Other associations include the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Board of Accountancy, and the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Dolan has one daughter and is engaged to Lesslee Belmore, formerly of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
